What does madrugar mean?

Hola Magdalene

Madrugar means "to get up really early". The verb contains all that meaning so there is no need to add any more words. For example,

"Hoy voy a acostarme temprano porque mañana tengo que madrugar."

(I am going to bed early today as I have to "get up early" tomorrow.

Hope this helps
