For the question: Tengo dos compañeras simpáticas y salgo ________ cada viernes. I have two nice colleagues and I go out with them every Friday. (HINT: female colleagues)
Why isn't the answer "vosotras"? Wouldn't these colleagues be familiar enough? They go out for lunch every Friday!
the informal pronoun "vosotros/-as" is used when we mean "you" plural; but in this case we mean "with them" (not with you); this is why it is "con ellas".
See these two different examples:
Quiero ir con vosotras al cine.
I want to go with you (a plural you) to the cinema.
Quiero ir con ellas al cine.
I want to go with them to the cinema.
I hope this clarified it.
