I would like to ask how often is El Presente used to indicate future action in comparison to other future tenses?

El Presente is very often used to talk about a future event as long as there is a time marker indicating future, e.g mañana, después...

I would say that for events that are far away in the future El Futuro is preferred:

Dentro de diez años estaremos bastante viejos.

This wouldn't sound quite right in the present tense.
