Subjunctive or Imperative?

Hola todosIt's a new year and I'm determined to master the subjunctive this year. So, I just got this question in a Kwiziq test"Conjugate the vosotros form of "hablar" in El Presente Subjuntivo (Don´t talk to me like that) : No me ___ así."Now, I did get the correct answer by selecting 'habléis'. However, strictly speaking, doesn't this answer represent the negative imperative rather than the present subjunctive? Of course both give the same answer and I understand there are crossovers in conjugations between the two tenses. But can the two have the same meaning in this case?

Hola Graeme,First of all, that's the right attitude about tackling the subjunctive!!As you were saying, a negative command is always conjugated in the present subjunctive, so you can say: conjugate as a negative command or conjugate in the present subjunctive; the result will be the same, as all negative commands require a present subjunctive. But, this is a lesson about conjugation, therefore we are going to always use the hint "conjugate in ... tense". Then you will find different types of sentences included in this quiz, some of them will be negative commands, some will be sentences with a verb expressing wish (quiero que..+pres.subj), some will be with other verbs triggering the present subjunctive. But having said this, this little confusion has come up before, and I am going to take this to the whole Spanish team to have a wider opinion. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.Un saludoInma

Hola,I was wondering what the result of the above was? In addition,  I have had confusions at times to determine whether a sentence (out of context at times) is in the imperative or the subjunctive.  Thank you.Nicole
