Why isn't vegetales accepted for vegetables?

In our exercises we use the vocabulary commonly used in Spain as Kwiziq is focused for the moment in European Spanish. However we add some very common words used in Latin America or parts of it. I just added "vegetales" as another possible option for this particular snippet.
