Number 7 ser and ir

Number 7 does not seem right. Yo fui medico. Isn’t fui mean to go? I am confused.

Hola Sabrina

The verbs ser and ir have exactly the same conjugation in the preterite tense in Spanish, so we need to see the context to realize if it means to be or to go.

In this sentence it means "was" not "went" "Yo fui médico".

Here's the link to the lesson Marsha mentioned. That will clarify it for you.

Saludos

If you go through the lesson - Conjugate and recognise ir and ser in the preterite tense in Spanish (El Pretérito Indefinido) it should become clear.
