Vowel change Reir for El Pretérito Indefinido?

Could someone please clarify the vowel change from e->i on reir. It looks like it is just be dropping the e.

Yes, the verb reír shouldn't be included in that table, because in that case, it is omitting the "e", not swapping it for "i". That's been corrected.
