How do you determine that the chocolate is hot using "el chocolate" is it because its used on the same sentence as cafe? And becomes an assumption

I added the word "caliente" to make it clear that we are referrring to "hot chocolate", not just chocolate. 

Bear in mind though that you may hear sometimes people referring to hot chocolate simply saying "un chocolate", dropping the word "caliente", but it could be a bit confusing if there is no context.
