fuera - afuera, dentro - adentro

Hola Inma,I can't really understand the diference (if there is one) between fuera - afuera and dentro - adentro. ¿Me podrías explicar?¡Feliz año nuevo!Ελισάβετ

- Fuera and afuera are used in the same way. They are synonyms. The only difference is that we "tend" to use "fuera" more than "afuera" when we use non-dynamic verbs, for example:

Estoy fuera, en el jardín. (more common in Spain)
Estoy afuera, en el jardín. (a bit less common in Spain but also correct)
I'm outside, in the garden.

With verbs that express "movement" both fuera and afuera are equally used:

Vete fuera. No te quiero ver.
Vete afuera. No te quiero ver.
Go outside. I don't want to see you.

- Dentro and adentro, again, are both correct, but a lot more common in Spain to use "dentro" with non-dynamic verbs:

No te preocupes, los niños están dentro.
Don't worry, the kids are inside.
