Hi!

Is there also a short form for "3 elevado a 2 igual a 9"? Would "3 a 2 son 9" work? (and is that even the correct translation of "to the whatever power"?)

Also, can I drop the "por" when variables are involved? Like "2 por x" -> "2 x"?

Hola Torsten

For that you could say something like:

3 elevado al cuadrado es 9

or

3 al cuadrado es 9

or

el cuadrado de 3 es 9

With multiplication you'd say "2 por 2 son 4"; you can't drop the "por".

What the heck . . .

The question was: How would you say ''nine divided by three equals three'' ? and the answer given by Kwizik as correct used the "entre" response.

Shouldn't it have been: nueve dividido por tres es igual a tres
