Es o está for location

“Jacinta y yo sabemos donde es la fiesta”. I thought it was standard to say está when referring to location. Am I missing something about a circumstance to say “donde es”?

Ser is used when you are saying where something takes place. There is a lesson which explains this. Ser vs Estar in Spanish: Using ser in Spanish (not estar) to say when / where something takes place
