En 1992 y 2011 España reformó ________ Constitución.

Could we use "el" in this context?  No possessive is used with body parts; it seemed that a constitution is a part of government, and not "owned" by it.

Hola Seth,

The word "Constitución is a feminine noun, so you would have to use "La" [the Constitution] or "Su" [it's Constitution].

Linking the Constitution to the guidelines about body parts just doesn't apply here. The possessive in the context of body parts would be "mí" [my] - and this is replaced by "the", and only applies to body parts and clothing.

I hope this helps. Saludos. John

Hola Seth

You can use the article "la" if it is completely clear that it is referring to something that belongs to Spain and it's clear for the listeners that this is the case. Nevertheless, using the possessive is also correct and makes it clear which law they are talking about (the Spanish Constitution).

Saludos
