El trabajo de Emma era ________ el mío.

Hola Diane
I checked and there is only one question with the word "estresante":
El trabajo de Emma era menos estresante que el mío.
(Emma's work was less stressful than mine.)
We are using the adjective in singular "estresante" because it is referring to a singular noun "el trabajo". If we were referring to something in plural, then you'd need the plural "estresantes", for example:
Mis viajes de negocios son más estresantes que mis viajes de placer.
My business trips are more stressful than my leisure trips.
I hope this clarified it.
Saludos
