después que+infinitive vs después de que+subjunctive

después que+infinitive vs después de que+subjunctive

Regarding "After I tried so hard...", couldn't "Despúes de que me esforzara tanto..." be another acceptable answer?

I think this might be more common in written Spanish?

Saludos

Hola Graeme

Yes, indeed. You can also use después de que + indicative or subjunctive:

Después de que me esforcé tanto...

Después de que me esforzara tanto...

You can also say:

Después de haberme esforzado tanto...

I just added these as correct answers.

Gracias y saludos
