Hola Larry,
The verb 'degustar' means to taste. In this passage I take it to mean 'to sample the drinks', 'to have a taste of the drinks there'.
Just my opinion though :)

Just a note here to say that there is actually a typo in the transcription and it should say "degustar" (not deSgustar). We'll be correcting this very soon.
