The grape harvest is the process of picking grapes to make wine. It usually happens between August and October, depending on the climate. In many regions of Spain and Latin America, it is a very important tradition. Grapes are picked by hand or with special machines. Afterwards, they are taken to a winery to begin the fermentation process. In some towns, festivals are organized to celebrate this time of year. People dance, sing and taste the first must, which is the juice of grapes after fermentation. In La Rioja, Jerez or Mendoza, the grape harvest is a major tourist attraction.
