The Nobel Peace Prize was born thanks to Alfred Nobel, who was a Swedish inventor who created dynamite. In 1895, Nobel wrote in his will that he wanted his money to go towards creating prizes. One of these awards was for peace. The first Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in 1901. Since then, it has been awarded almost every year. The award is for people or groups that work for peace in the world. It is presented in Oslo every December 10. Over the years, this award has become very important and it is a symbol of hope and recognition of work for a better and fairer world. Furthermore, this award inspires future generations to continue working for justice and global harmony. Some famous winners of this award are Martin Luther King (1964) and Mother Teresa (1979).
