It had a high opening on the right side, which revealed JLo's toned legs. Furthermore, it was made of sheer silk chiffon in a vibrant green color. JLo's appearance in the dress was an important moment in fashion history and from that moment she was considered a style icon. The dress was so popular that it inspired countless imitations and it became a recurring Halloween costume. It was also credited with inspiring the creation of Google Images, as the search engine saw a spike in searches for photos of the dress after the Grammys. In 2019, almost 20 years after its debut, JLo wore an updated version of the dress during the Versace spring show in Milan.
