I thought I should say a little more about the fundraising initiative I mentioned yesterday when I was talking about the cyclist Alberto Contador. The initiative was launched in March by Spanish tennis star Rafa Nadal and basketball sensation Pau Gasol to raise funds for the Red Cross in its fight against COVID-19 and is called Nuestra Mejor Victoria (our best victory). Since its inception, many sports personalities have joined the campaign, and it even led Spain's competing sports publications to join forces:
The goal is to raise 11 million euros in order to assist 1,350,000 people. Read about the launch here, there's also a video from Rafa's instagram where he has the most adorable lockdown hair!
