The Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española or SIELE is an official Spanish language test awarded by the Instituto Cervantes. It was created by the Instituto Cervantes, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the University of Salamanca (USAL) and the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Unlike DELE, this is a single test which grades the student's Spanish proficiency from A1 to C1 (there is no C2 accreditation) according to the CEFR standard.
It's not possible to fail the SIELE exam. The lowest grade you can achieve is A1. Keep in mind that the certification is valid for 5 years only. Established in 2016, the SIELE is a relatively new certification. If you need to prove your Spanish proficiency for a specific establishment you should check that they will recognise the SIELE results.
If you live in the UK, you can take the test at the Instituto Cervantes, for a fee. You can choose to take the whole exam in one day, split the exam over several days or just take one or two "independent modalities". While you must take the exam at a SIELE examination centre in order to be supervised and use their special software, because the exam is taken online you can pretty much choose which day you take the exam rather than sign up for specific pre-determined examination dates as you have to do with the DELE exam. The results are available quickly too; there's a maximum of three weeks to find out how you did.
