Así así

Así así

So, here it says así así means so so and I remember learning that in school as well, but I've had a few different native speakers tell me that they don't say that, and they're more likely to say mas o menos. Is así así primarily used in Spain? Or is it an older saying?

Thanks!

We don't use así así. We use más o menos. En Colombia. Así it is more for saying that you do something like that. Así (showing it).

 I hope this helps.

I really dislike seeing así así in this context.  It is a direct translation from the English expression but not one I have ever heard a Spanish speaker utter (though I guess if enough people start using it it will eventually work its way into the language :(
