At eighteen, Marina got her first real job. She had always depended on her parents for money. Now she earns a monthly salary. Of course, the first thing she did was open a bank account. Her mother told her that she should save part of it. So she opened a savings account too. At first it was hard for her to make ends meet. She works hard so that she can pay her own rent. She still lives with a friend to spend less. Her parents are proud because she has become independent. She hopes to buy a flat [US: apartment] in a few years. Next year she will save more money. For now, she is happy to be in control of her own money. Finally, she feels free and independent.
