Fencing is an ancient art that originated as a combat skill. In antiquity, people used swords to protect themselves and to fight. With the passing of time, fencing evolved into both a sport and an art form. In Europe, in the era of castles and knights, fencing was taught as a noble skill. Gradually, specific rules and techniques were created for this discipline and today, it is a very competitive sport that combines skill, speed, and strategy.
