Just a few minutes before ordering a cocktail, I decided to have a look on google to see what the most traditional one in Spain was and I bet you don't know which one appeared on the list of the most popular? Well, the sol and sombra, an alcoholic beverage mixed with brandy or cognac and sweet anise. And you may be asking yourself how come it is called like that. Well it's really interesting. Its name refers to the different types of seats which can be bought to see the bullfights. Seats in the shade, symbolised by brandy for its dark colour and the seats in the sun, represented by anise. Isn't it fascinating! The thing I least I would have imagined is that the name of the drink reflects what is explained above. Isn't it incredible?
