As soon as I arrive in Ourense in three days time, I will see its famous Roman Bridge. This bridge was built in the 1st century over the Miño river to serve as a communication hub in the province. Later, in the 12th century, it suffered several landslides and was rebuilt by the architect Melchor de Velasco. Although its original appearance was obviously Roman, many medieval elements were introduced in its reconstruction and due to its great beauty and history, it was declared a historical monument in 1961. After having told you all of this, I'm looking forward to seeing it since I am a fan of civil architecture and I love to travel around Spain whenever I can in search of this type of historical jewel from our heritage.

Clever stuff happening!
