At the tourist office (B1)
Spanish writing exercise

En la oficina de turismo

Mónica and Ángel are at the tourist office to get some information for their day trip to San Jose. In this exercise you'll practise the position of pronouns, the verb "gustar" in the conditional tense, and the difference between some accentuated/non-accentuated words.

Pay attention to the hints!

Some vocabulary you may want to look up before or during this exercise: "wonderful", "to mark (to indicate)", "spot (location)", and "to taste".

I’ll give you some sentences to translate into Spanish

  • I’ll show you where you make mistakes
  • I’ll keep track of what you need to practise
  • Change my choices if you want

-Good morning, how can I help you? -Good morning. We are going to spend a day in San Jose and we would like to know what we can visit. -Wonderful! There are many things to visit in this city. I'm going to mark for you on this map the most important tourist spots. Firstly, you can have a very delicious Costa Rican coffee here. Then, you can visit the Central Market, where it is possible to taste tropical fruits. Afterwards, I recommend visiting monuments like the National Monument and the National Theater. -Thank you very much for the information! Also, it seems that all these places are very close to each other. -Yes, they are not far from each other, but if you prefer, you can also take a bus. Have a nice day!

Let me take a look at that...
