Elizabeth II reigned in Spain between 1833 and 1868. It was a complex reign because her father appointed her queen with the abolition of the salic law and many people disagreed. However, Elizabeth II made many reforms, she modernised the country, she promoted the construction of the railway line and of a water supply canal for the city of Madrid. In addition, she introduced labour improvements and supported Spanish industrialisation.
