Pajarillo

Spanish online reading and listening practice - level C1

This version of the traditional Venezuelan song Pajarillo is sung by Elizabeth Morris, a Chilean folkloric singer-songwriter. Pajarillo is a joropo. The word joropo originally meant "a party" but has evolved into the name of a typically Venezuelan style of music and dance.

This reading and listening exercise can help you practise particularly poetic uses of El Imperfecto Subjuntivo and towards the end of the song there is an instance of the use of the apostrophe in Spanish.
